Eve Troeh shares the story of an unlikely friendship that grew out of two very different lives as they were being rebuilt. Originally broadcast August 26, 2006.

New Orleans Loss: Helen Hill Memorial
Violence in New Orleans has skyrocketed since Hurricane Katrina. Just after the police chief announced that violent crime was under control, six people were killed there in less than 24 hours. One of them was 36-year-old Helen Hill, a friend and neighbor of Eve Troeh. In this remembrance, Troeh says her friend's death has people reconsidering their decision to return to New Orleans. Originally broadcast January 6, 2007.

Rebuilding New Orleans, One Shotgun at a Time
With rent and real estate costs still going through the roof, and thousands of people still living in FEMA trailers or bunking with friends and family, the New Orleans housing crisis is nowhere near over. In this story, Eve Troeh gets to know one group of architects and students who are re-imagining the shotgun as a contemporary, efficient, and affordable housing solution. Originally broadcast March 27, 2007.

Eve Troeh offers some insight into how it's all playing out. Originally broadcast October 20, 2007.
