"Those Who Fell Through the Cracks" is a collaborative photography project by Stanley Greene and Kadir van Lohuizen that documents Hurricane Katrina's effects on Gulf Coast residents who are still struggling to reestablish their lives after the storm.

Greene focused his work on those communities that were neglected by recovery and rebuilding efforts. His photographs of abandoned neighborhoods and damaged schools and churches that remain untouched since the storm point to the lack of proper infrastructure and resources that plague many rural Gulf Coast communities. He also documented residents of those areas as they strain to make ends meet.

Van Lohuizen explored the challenges of displacement. He documents New Orleans residents now living in Texas and records their daily struggles as they negotiate the tangled web of government and non-profit bureaucracies.

The work spans the Gulf Coast and covers a range of subjects, from fishing communities in Mississippi and Alabama to displaced families living in Houston. The project's ultimate goal is to shed light on the many individuals and communities who were most vulnerable before the storm and continue to be neglected two years later.
