Debbie Fleming Caffery's photographs document New Orleans communities in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. The still lifes and urban landscapes record physical markings and damaged objects left behind by the disaster. Her portraits provide intimate studies of survivors. Caffery's work attests to the individual and collective will to maintain a sense of hope and faith amid the daily reminders of Katrina.
