Working with Downtown Community Television Center (DCTV), four African American high school students—two from New York and two from New Orleans—united to make this documentary video about communities affected by Katrina and how people of all ages are coping. The footage differs substantially from what was shown in mainstream news coverage of the disaster, focusing on survivors who are healing themselves and their communities in the absence of government assistance.
