Students at the Educational Video Center produced a series of short movies by youth from New Orleans that address the impact of Katrina on the daily lives of young people. The films explore the double-displacement felt by students in New Orleans who had evacuated and then returned, only to find themselves alienated from their friends, their family, their homes, and their pre-Katrina schools.

The films include Moving On, about Dominique Townsend's decision to live with her 20-year-old boyfriend, so she can attend her newly-reopened high school for senior year; This is Where I Should Be, an interview with Gabrielle Turner; Kissing Chico, a film by Adriane Frazier that's a mixture of formal interview and psychological self-discovery; A Jazz Journey, about 14-year-old Stephen Gladney's development as a jazz musician; Sam & Dave Forever, a drama about the development of a romantic relationship in the context of post-Katrina New Orleans; and Jambo Kenya, a video exploring the forms of displacement youth are feeling in both New Orleans and East Africa.
